Custom Stone Entry & Landscape Transformation

This front entrance transformation began with the removal of the original railroad-tie retaining walls, which had significantly deteriorated over the years. The homeowner wanted to completely renew the front of the property without creating a design that felt overly modern, preserving the home’s original character and architectural style.

To accomplish this, we designed a new masonry wall system built with concrete block over a structural concrete foundation. The visible face of the walls was finished with natural stone veneer, carefully selected to complement the existing stone surrounding the home’s entrance and create a seamless transition between the original architecture and the new construction.

The walls were completed with bluestone caps and paired with a reconstructed bluestone walkway that follows the natural shape of the property while improving access to the main entrance. Low-voltage lighting was integrated beneath the caps to highlight the texture of the stone and the curves of the walls at night, adding depth and elegance without taking away from the traditional character of the home.

New landscape beds, decorative boulders, and premium bark mulch complete the transformation, softening the hardscape elements and connecting each part of the design to the surrounding property.

More than simply building new walls and a walkway, our goal was to restore functionality to an area that could no longer be used comfortably, improve access to the home, and create an entrance the homeowners could enjoy every day. Every material and detail was selected to add lasting value and make the new work feel like a natural extension of the property.
